Sherrod Brown (D-OH) today announced that the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) released $14,695,190 to the State of Ohio Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP). Ohio EPA ordered the village of Sebring on January 21 to offer free water testing for any homeowner who asked and will make those results public as they are received.

In Washington D.C. at a Great Lakes Commission semi-annual meeting today, U.S. EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy will announce new state targets for reducing phosphorus in the Great Lakes. The 40 percent phosphorus reduction target identified by U.S. EPA is the same as that adopted earlier by Ohio through its 2013 Phosphorus Task Force II report and closely follows the path Ohio has already taken by working to establish the Western Lake Erie Basin Collaborative Agreement.
