Congressman Latta Hears From Army Corps Of Engineers About Luckey Cleanup Site
Congressman Bob Latta (R-Bowling Green) heard from representatives from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers yesterday who gave an update on the progress made toward clearing contaminated land in Luckey. The 40 acres of property, located at 21200 Luckey Road, was previously used for beryllium and magnesium processing. Last year, the Corps awarded a contract for remediation of the Luckey Site. On hand for the discussion were local officials from the Village of Luckey, Troy Township, and Wood County.

There were 3,116 central Ohio homes and condos sold during the month of August, a 4.8 percent increase over the previous year and a 1.5 percent increase over July. This was the highest number of closed sales for the month of August ever recorded and the second highest month for 2016, according to the Columbus REALTORS® Multiple Listing Service.

U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) today announced $1,650,000 in federal funding for Erie County to remove lead and other health hazards in local homes to protect children and families from the life-long health effects of lead exposure. The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) funding will address lead hazards in 80 housing units to provide safer homes for low and very low-income families with children. The Health Department will work with the Lorain County General Health District to facilitate the program.
