Sherrod Brown (D-OH) today announced $1,650,000 in federal funding for Erie County to remove lead and other health hazards in local homes to protect children and families from the life-long health effects of lead exposure. The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) funding will address lead hazards in 80 housing units to provide safer homes for low and very low-income families with children. The Health Department will work with the Lorain County General Health District to facilitate the program.
