Cincinnati Firefighters To Teach Fire Safety To Local Homeless Children
A Partnership With FACES Without PLACES
Cincinnati, OH – August 2, 2012 – (RealEstateRama) — The Cincinnati Fire Department and Cincinnati Fire Foundation are participating in the Faces without Places’ Yellow Bus Summer Camp TODAY to teach local homeless children about Fire Safety.
Faces without Places keeps children experiencing homelessness in Greater Cincinnati connected to their education. They provide uniform vouchers, school supplies, transportation to school, enrichment, advocacy, enrollment assistance and specialized services to more than 3,000 homeless children each year.
Members from the Cincinnati Fire Department will be teaching Fire Safety to the children and providing tours through their Fire Safety House. In addition, the Cincinnati Fire Foundation received a grant through the Greater Cincinnati Foundation’s Summertime Kids Program to provide special safety bags for each child.
What: Yellow Bus Summer Camp
Where: College Hill Presbyterian Church, 5742 Hamilton Ave., Cincinnati, OH 45224
When: TODAY – Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2012 – 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Why: The Yellow Bus Summer Camp is for children ages 5-12 experiencing homelessness. The enrolled children come from various shelters, motels and neighborhood stops in Greater Cincinnati.
100 children are expected to participate in the Summer Camp today.
