Boccieri Announces More Than $240,000 For Canton Safe Housing

CANTON, OH – September 27, 2010 – (RealEstateRama) — U.S. Congressman John Boccieri (D-Alliance) today announced the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) awarded more than $240,000 to Domestic Violence Project, Inc. (DVIP) of Canton as part of the Transitional Housing Assistance Grants for Victims of Domestic Violence, Dating Violence, Stalking, or Sexual Assault Program.

“I am proud of the work at Domestic Violence Project, Inc. and their fight to end physical, sexual and emotional violence in the community,” said Boccieri. “This grant will allow the program to provide safe housing for victims and their children.”

Congressman Boccieri met with Domestic Violence Project Inc. last year to discuss the programs and services it provides Canton. This project’s primary objective will be to assist 8-10 victims and their children during the 3-year grant funding period. For more information about the project, click here.
