Peterson Announces 35 New Jobs For Jackson County

-
Columbus, OH – May 5, 2015 – (RealEstateRama) — State Senator Bob Peterson (R-Sabina) announced today that Speyside Bourbon Cooperage Inc. plans to create 35 new jobs following the approval of state funds to support a roadwork project in Jackson.

“This project both improves our local roads and demonstrates our seriousness about attracting job-creators to southern Ohio,” said Peterson. “The announcement that Speyside Bourbon will be creating 35 positions at their Jackson facility is great news for the community.”

The state awarded a $344,000 Roadwork Development Grant to the city of Jackson to support Speyside Bourbon’s facility construction project. The announcement follows approval by the state’s Controlling Board on Monday.

Improvements will take place on McCarty Lane approximately 1,800 feet east of State Route 93 and ending approximately 970 feet West of US-35. Improvements on McCarty Lane will ensure the safety of increased traffic flow from delivery trucks and benefit existing businesses in the commercial area.

Roadwork Development Grants are administered by the Development Services Agency. The grants assist in funding local road construction projects that support the expansion and creation of businesses in Ohio.

The Jackson roadwork improvements will involve resurfacing with full depth asphalt stabilization and general re-paving.

The project will support Speyside Bourbon Cooperage Inc. in locating their facility at 960 E. Main St., Jackson, Ohio. Jackson was in competition with the state of Kentucky for the site-selection of this barrel refurbishing facility.
