Brown Applauds Obama Housing Plan

-

WASHINGTON, D.C.  – February 18, 2009 – (RealEstateRama) – U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown (D-OH) issued the following statement after President Barack Obama unveiled the Homeowner Affordability and Stability Plan:“Within twenty-four hours of signing landmark legislation to turn our economy around, President Obama made the housing crisis a White House priority. I applaud his leadership. The President is right that our nation must rally around working families who, through no fault of their own, are on the verge of losing their homes.  Foreclosures devastate families, hurt communities, and cause all home prices to drop. Addressing this crisis is not only consistent with our community values, but essential if we are going to stabilize the U.S. housing market and the U.S. economy.  I look forward to working with the Obama administration as we stem the tide of massive foreclosures and work to rebuild our nation’s middle class.”
