Brown Announces $250,000 In New Federal Funding For Sewer Replacement In Noble County
WASHINGTON, D.C. – June 17, 2015 – (RealEstateRama) — U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) today announced $250,000 in federal funding for the Noble County Commissioners to replace storm sewer infrastructure in Belle Valley.
“Flooding and standing water can affect residents and business if it does not drain in a timely manner,” said Brown. “The funding will give Noble County the ability to improve storm water management in Belle Valley.”
The $100,000 from ARC will give Noble County the opportunity to replace portions of the Belle Valley Storm Sewer system. The project will replace 2,480 linear feet of storm sewer pipe and 24 catch basins on Main, Broad, and Liberty Streets. The 110 residential properties and six businesses located in the project service area suffer from flooded streets and standing water during periods of heavy or continuous rainfall. The flooded streets impact businesses operations, create safety issues, and impact public health for residents and businesses owners in Belle Valley. Through this project, the flooding issues will be mitigated through a properly designed storm water management system improving the quality of life for residents and business owners in Belle Valley.
