Ohio Continues to Attract New Business Investment

COLUMBUS, OH – June 1, 2015 – (RealEstateRama) — Gov. John R. Kasich today announced the approval of assistance for 16 projects set to create more than 2,000 jobs and retain 2,157 jobs statewide. During its monthly meeting, the Ohio Tax Credit Authority reviewed economic development proposals brought to the board by JobsOhio and its regional partners. Together the projects are expected to result in more than $89 million in new payroll and $150 million in investment across Ohio.

Mindset Digital, LLC (Location TBD) expects to create 25 full-time positions, generating $2 million in additional annual payroll and retaining $664,906 in existing payroll as a result of the company’s expansion project at a to-be-determined location. Mindset Digital is an online training company. The TCA approved a 45 percent, five-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

The Business Backer, LLC (Location TBD) expects to create 125 full-time positions, generating $7.3 million in additional annual payroll and retaining $4.1 million in existing payroll as a result of the company’s expansion project at a to-be-determined location. Business Backer is an e-commerce financial lender for small businesses. The TCA approved a 55 percent, six-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

SOUTHWEST

Airtech, LLC, City of Cincinnati (Hamilton Co.) expects to create 40 full-time positions, generating $2.5 million in additional annual payroll and retaining $242,790 in existing payroll as a result of the company’s expansion project in the City of Cincinnati (Hamilton Co.). Airtech provides maintenance services and support to the business jet aircraft market. The TCA approved a 45 percent, six-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

CTL Aerospace, Inc., West Chester Township (Butler Co.) expects to create 46 full-time positions, generating $1.8 million in additional annual payroll and retaining $9.9 million in existing payroll as a result of the company’s expansion project in West Chester Township (Butler Co.). CTL Aerospace manufactures fiber reinforced polymer coatings for the aerospace industry. The TCA approved a 50 percent, seven-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

Kingsgate Transportation Services, LLC, West Chester Township (Butler Co.) expects to create 30 full-time positions, generating $1.5 million in additional annual payroll and retaining $964,458 in existing payroll as a result of the company’s expansion project in West Chester Township (Butler Co.). Kingsgate Transportation provides freight services. The TCA approved a 40 percent, five-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

Milacron LLC, Cities of Cincinnati and Blue Ash (Hamilton Co.), Village of Batavia (Clermont Co.) and Village of Mount Orab (Brown Co.) expects to create 294 full-time positions, generating $13.8 million in additional annual payroll and retaining $62.3 million in existing payroll as a result of the company’s expansion project in the Cities of Cincinnati and Blue Ash (Hamilton Co.), Village of Batavia (Clermont Co.) and Village of Mount Orab (Brown Co.). Milacron manufactures and distributes plastic processing equipment. The TCA approved a 75 percent, 10-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

The Kroger Co., City of Blue Ash (Hamilton Co.) expects to create 649 full-time positions, generating $25.4 million in additional annual payroll and retaining $1.2 million in existing payroll as a result of the company’s consolidation project in the City of Blue Ash (Hamilton Co.). Kroger is a large grocery retailer. The TCA approved a 65 percent, 10-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

NORTHWEST

Alkon Corporation, City of Fremont (Sandusky Co.) expects to create 20 full-time positions, generating $837,200 in additional annual payroll and retaining $5.2 million in existing payroll as a result of the company’s expansion project in the City of Fremont (Sandusky Co). Alkon Corp. manufactures valves, fittings and flow controls for a number of industries. The TCA approved a 40 percent, six-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

Freudenberg-NOK (FNOK) General Partnership, City of Findlay (Hancock Co.) expects to create 25 full-time positions, generating $966,000 in additional annual payroll and retaining $6.6 million in existing payroll as a result of the company’s expansion project in the City of Findlay (Hancock Co.). FNOK manufactures rubber sealing technology for the automotive, civil aviation, mechanical engineering, shipbuilding, food and pharmaceutical, agricultural and construction machinery industries. The TCA approved a 45 percent, eight-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

Nelson Packaging Company, Inc., Bath Township (Allen Co.) expects to create 140 full-time positions, generating $3.7 million in additional annual payroll and retaining $7.3 million in existing payroll as a result of the company’s expansion project in Bath Township (Allen Co.). Nelson Packaging is a contract manufacturer for consumer packaged goods. The TCA approved a 45 percent, seven-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

CENTRAL

Arlington Contact (AC) Lens Service, Inc., City of Columbus (Franklin Co.) expects to create 50 full-time positions, generating $2.5 million in additional annual payroll and retaining $5.4 million in existing payroll as a result of the company’s expansion project in the City of Columbus (Franklin Co.). AC Lens is a direct delivery contact lens supply company. The TCA approved a 45 percent, six-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

BarkBox, Inc., City of Columbus (Franklin Co.) expects to create 120 full-time positions, generating $3.6 million in annual payroll as a result of the company’s new project in the City of Columbus (Franklin Co.). BarkBox provides pet-themed products and technology. The TCA approved a 45 percent, seven-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

Union Tank Car Company, City of Marion (Marion Co.) expects to create 200 full-time positions, generating $8.3 million in additional annual payroll and retaining $4.6 million in existing payroll as a result of the company’s expansion project in the City of Marion (Marion Co.). Union Tank Car Company services and repairs railroad tank cars for various industries. The TCA approved a 55 percent, five-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

NORTHEAST

GCA Services Group, Inc., City of Cleveland (Cuyahoga Co.) expects to create 30 full-time positions, generating $1.8 million in additional annual payroll and retaining $5.4 million in existing payroll as a result of the company’s expansion project in the City of Cleveland (Cuyahoga Co.). GCA Services Group provides facility services including janitorial and custodial services, contamination control for cleanroom manufacturing, facilities operations and maintenance, grounds management, and staffing and labor management. The TCA approved a 40 percent, six-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

GOJO Industries, Inc., City of Wooster (Wayne Co.) expects to create 244 full-time positions, generating $12 million in annual payroll as a result of the company’s new project in the City of Wooster (Wayne Co.). GOJO Industries produces skin health and hygiene products, including hand cleaning, sanitizing and skin care formulas. The TCA approved a 60 percent, six-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

WESTERN

Tooling Technology, LLC, Village of Fort Loramie (Shelby Co.) expects to create 25 full-time positions, generating $1.1 million in additional annual payroll and retaining $6.2 million in existing payroll as a result of the company’s expansion project in the Village of Fort Loramie (Shelby Co.). Tooling Technology provides cast and machined tooling, including design, engineering, manufacturing and testing. The TCA approved a 40 percent, five-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.
