WASHINGTON, D.C. - September 26, 2013 - (RealEstateRama) -- U.S. Rep. Marcy Kaptur (OH-9) has introduced legislation in the U.S. House of Representatives to make the Ohio Veterans Home and other state veterans homes eligible for homelessness grant funding from the Department of Veterans Affairs.

WASHINGTON, DC - September 25, 2013 - (RealEstateRama) -- Today, U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH), a senior member of the Senate Veterans Affairs Committee, and U.S. Rep. Marcy Kaptur (OH-9) introduced the State Veterans Home Homelessness Act, legislation which would keep Erie County veterans off the street and give them the resources to get back on their feet. The bill would benefit the Sandusky State Veterans Home by making it and other state veterans homes eligible for Veterans Affairs (VA) homelessness grants. Despite the high need of local veterans and available beds in the Sandusky home, VA homelessness grants are not currently available to state veterans homes.

(the volunteers), another local brownfield has been investigated and remediated under Ohio Voluntary Action Program (VAP) and is targeted for redevelopment.

WASHINGTON, D.C. - September 23, 2013 - (RealEstateRama) -- Ohio EPA is considering a request to grant an urban setting designation (USD) for a 31-acre property located at 377 Woodland Avenue in Elyria. A USD application for the commercial/industrial property was submitted by Groundwater & Environmental Services Inc. on behalf of Moen Inc. The Agency is seeking public comments before making a final decision.

COLUMBUS - September 19, 2013 - (RealEstateRama) -- The Ohio Housing Finance Agency (OHFA) Board approved more than $1 million through the Housing Investment Fund (HIF) yesterday. Established in September 2008, the HIF supports initiatives that meet housing needs not currently met by OHFA programs. The two initiatives that received funding include:

Spon today announced that lawsuits have been filed against a negligent property owner and his company, whose homes fell into disrepair and were subsequently demolished by the City of Mansfield.
